Jo De Pear & Jane Dillon: Recent Work

Jo’s work examines the notions of memory and loss. Through the collected detritus of inheritance, her prints are evokative of a bygone era. A topographical homage to hoarding. Her images evolve through a combination of monoprinting, silkscreen, etching and drawing. With subtle layering of the impressions left by old lace and doilies, often obscured through ethereal veils of colour, she builds her imaginary landscapes.

Dillon’s work uses a combination of techniques including screen-print, mono-print, collagraph and etching to explore ideas of volume, light and movement on the printed surface. She takes inspiration from the light and rock formations of the Cornish coast and imagery from the Hubble Space Telescope, as well as returning to the work of Frank Stella, Larry Poons and Gillian Ayres and the Eames’ film Powers of Ten.
